I'm just a user, don't get into the tech side of what happens on the phone, should not be related to the DM install, but just reporting what occurred in my case, YMMV. This is NOT what I was expecting from the DM install. This phone is capable of amazing things and is pretty much (IMHO) the best all in one PDA phone out there. After playing around with it pretty much non-stop for the past 10 hours, I thought this might be a good topic. Whatever triggered the update to my phone, if not related specifically to the new DM install, well, I can't tell you. I am proud to say that I am the owner of a shiny new BlackBerry Pearl 8130.

Seems to have slightly faster response time from screen to screen. Also seems the number of "bars" is improved from what I had previously, currently showing as 5 bars, never had that while sitting in my office (was usually 3 bars). The three times I've rebooted since DM5.0 and up the update to the files on my phone has been 34.7. My last three reboots prior to installing and connecting to DM5 was 32.6MB. I did note that I then had a slight boost in memory, added 2MB at boot-up compared to DM4.7.

Not sure if this was result of DM5.0 or not.
